Shetland pony deaths in Cornwall investigated

The deaths of two Shetland ponies in a field in Cornwall are being investigated by police.

The carcasses were found at Carharrack, near Redruth, at about 10:30 BST, by the animals' owners who had gone to feed them.

Police said the ponies had been examined by a vet and their deaths may have been accidental, not criminal.

But officers added they were keeping an open mind and enquiries would continue in order to determine what happened.
