Girl cut off by tide rescued by Rock lifeboat

A 15-year-old holidaymaker has been rescued after being cut off by the tide in Cornwall on Monday evening.

The girl was found by the Rock inshore lifeboat crew. They had been searching for a dog which had fallen from cliffs at Greenaway in the Camel Estuary.

The London teenager was treated by paramedics for a head injury before being reunited with her parents.

"This story had a happy ending, but it could all too easily have turned out tragically," an RNLI spokesman said.

The dog was not found.
