Man held after St Austell armed robbery

A man has been arrested after an armed robbery at a convenience store in a Cornwall town.

Police said the raid happened at about 10:30 BST on Friday at the Urban Village Costcutter store in Carlyon Road, St Austell.

The man threatened staff with a knife and stole cash from a till, said a police spokesman.

The suspect has been bailed until 21 September. The police said nobody was hurt in the incident.
