Woman rescued from faulty deckchair

An elderly woman who was stuck in a faulty deckchair for several hours has been rescued by firefighters.

The woman, from Polruan in Cornwall, is believed to be in her 80s and was discovered by a neighbour.

A spokesperson for Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said they believed she may have been stuck in the chair for most of Monday.

The spokesperson confirmed the woman would be taken to hospital. The nature of her injuries is not yet known.
