A man has been charged with murder after a man was shot with what was believed to be a crossbow in Cornwall.

Police were called to a rural property in Trevallack, outside the village of St Keverne, near Helston, just after 09:00 BST on Saturday.

Roy Hanson, 50, from the Helston area, was found with a serious chest injury and died at the scene, police said.

A 28-year-old man from St Keverne is due to appear before magistrates in Truro on Monday, officers added.

Mr Hanson was treated at the property when he was found by paramedics, who then called police.

Devon and Cornwall Police said Mr Hanson was "thought to have been struck with a bolt from a crossbow".
