An elderly woman has died in a bungalow fire despite "brave attempts" to save her.
A neighbour attempted to rescue the woman from the house in Whiterock Road, Wadebridge, on Wednesday, the fire service said.
She was taken to Treliske Hospital in Cornwall in a critical condition, where she later died.
Devon and Cornwall Police said a man from the property was treated for the effects of smoke inhalation.
A neighbour also went to hospital as a precaution, the force said, but both men have since been discharged.
Police and fire investigators are set to remain at the property to undertake further examinations to determine the cause of the fire.
