Coventry cat bin woman questioned by RSPCA

A woman who was filmed putting a cat in a wheelie bin has been questioned by RSPCA investigators.

Mary Bale, 45, was recorded by CCTV cameras putting four-year-old Lola into the bin in Coventry.

The cat was found 15 hours later by her owner Darryl Mann, who then posted the video of the incident on the internet.

Ms Bale has apologised for her actions and said she would co-operate fully with police and the charity.

The video sparked outrage among animal lovers and led to Facebook taking down a group calling for Ms Bale's death.

An RSPCA spokeswoman said: "Mary Bale has been interviewed by an RSPCA inspector and a full file is being compiled and will be sent for review by the prosecutions department."
