Chiltern Railway services between Warwick and London

Chiltern Railways says it is to launch new, faster rail services between Warwickshire and London.

The peak-time non-stop journey will take 70 minutes with fast trains through the day calling only at Warwick Parkway, Leamington Spa and Banbury.

Two fast trains to London will also run from Birmingham Moor Street in the morning, a spokesman said.

Thomas Ableman, from Chiltern Railways, said the new services will start in just over three months.

He said there was demand for them.

"Like any investment in any other sector, we believe that people that currently have to use the West Coast route from Coventry, don't like driving into the centre of Coventry, don't like the overcrowding and the cramped carriages and don't like the price they have to pay so we'd like to give them an alternative," he said.
