A family has paid tribute to a "fun brother and caring father" who was fatally stabbed in Coventry.

Harold Barnes, 48, was stabbed in the chest at an address in Hillmorton Road, Wood End, shortly before midnight on Wednesday. He died later in hospital.

In a joint statement his siblings said: "Our brother was a loving and caring father of three children and a granddaughter."

West Midlands Police is appealing for information about the murder.

Mr Barnes was known to friends as 'H'.

His family said: "He was a fun brother to his two sisters Tracy and Yvonne and his brother Philip, who will hold fond memories of their older brother.

"He was much loved and he will be sadly missed by all his family and friends."

The scene remained cordoned off on Friday to allow further forensic examinations to be carried out.
