Tradeteam DHL to close Hams Hall depot in Warwickshire

A drinks distributor has announced plans to close its depot in Warwickshire placing more than 100 jobs at risk.

Tradeteam DHL has told staff it plans to close the depot at Hams Hall, in north Warwickshire, in April.

Unite union said that would mean 128 staff, including drivers, office staff and managers, would lose their jobs.

The company said it would make every effort to redeploy staff where possible to other areas of the business.

The union said it was urgently seeking talks with the company.

'Difficult time'

A spokesman for Tradeteam said: "It is with regret that we can confirm that Tradeteam is proposing to close its warehousing and distribution operations at Hams Hall.

"Staff at Tradeteam's Head Office operation at Hams Hall are not affected by this issue."

He added that under the proposal, Tradeteam would soon start individual and group consultations with affected staff and site representatives.

"We would like to thank the team at Hams Hall for their understanding at this difficult time and stress that this decision in no way reflects on the quality of work at the site," he said.
