Warwickshire woman arrested after Polesworth crash

A woman has been arrested in Warwickshire on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was hit by a vehicle on Tuesday evening.

The man, who was walking his dog in Polesworth, was taken by air ambulance to University Hospital Coventry shortly after 20:00 BST.

Police said he was in a critical but stable condition.

The 47-year-old woman, from Austrey, was arrested after allegedly returning to the scene of the collision.

Warwickshire Police also seized her car as part of their investigations.

The man's dog was also injured and received veterinary treatment.

Detectives have appealed for anyone with information about the crash to contact them via Crimestoppers.
