A second man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing in Coventry city centre that left a 22-year-old man with a serious stomach injury.

Police believe the attack occurred at the S7ven nightclub, in Hales Street, at 01:45 (BST) on Monday.

The victim, from Coundon, underwent surgery and remains in a stable condition in hospital.

A 24-year-old man from Foleshill was arrested on Monday evening. Another man, 23, has been bailed after arrest.

Det Con Mark Miller, from West Midlands Police, said: "We've already spoken to several potential witnesses but the sheer volume of people in the club at the time means some may not yet have spoken to us.

"I'd urge anyone who was in, or nearby, the S7ven club on Sunday night through to the early hours of Monday morning, to contact us as soon as possible."
