Adebayo Adeniran death: Two arrests in Coventry

Two people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 31-year-old man was found dead in the front garden of an empty property in Coventry.

West Midlands Police have identified the man as Adebayo Adeniran, a Nigerian national, known locally as Patrick.

Police said Mr Adeniran , who was found in North Avenue, Stoke, on Thursday, died from multiple stab wounds.

A 31-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman were being questioned, police said.

The landlord of the property, which is being renovated, discovered Mr Adeniran's body on Thursday morning.

Witness appeal

It is believed he was last seen alive at about 19:00 BST on Wednesday.

Det Ch Insp Matt Markham said: "Our thoughts are with Mr Adeniran's family at this difficult time and I want to hear from anyone who knows anything about what happened.

"We suspect the victim may have been in the company of other people and I would ask anyone who was in the area to cast their minds back."

He added that police want to hear from anyone who was in the Walsgrave Road, Binley Road or Far Gosford Street areas of the city between 18:00 BST and 22:00 BST on Wednesday.

Mr Markham described Mr Adeniran as black, about 5ft 9in tall, with short black hair. He was wearing a pink shirt underneath a blue jumper, jeans and a carrying rucksack.
