Coventry gets new flood warning areas

More homes and businesses in Coventry and Warwickshire have been added to the Environment Agency's flood warning service, following heavy rainfall.

People living by the rivers Sowe and Sherbourne and Canley Brook are among those to get the service.

An agency spokeswoman said while those areas did not have a history of flooding, the summer rainfall had shown it could happen in unexpected places.

People with a landline in those areas will be automatically signed up.

Letters are being sent out to homes and businesses to let people know about the service.
