Man dies and three hurt in Warwickshire M6 crash

A man has died and three other people have been injured in a crash which shut the M6 in Warwickshire.

The crash, on the southbound section between junctions four and 3a, happened at about 12:50 BST.

A car left the carriageway, fell down an embankment and landed on its roof.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said the male driver of the car died at the scene. A female passenger in her 50s was trapped for about 40 minutes and suffered minor injuries.

Two other woman, also thought to be in their 50s, also suffered minor injuries. The three women were taken to hospital for treatment.

Both sides of the carriageway were shut while to allow the air ambulance to land.

All lanes have since reopened.
