Former PC David Hilton sentenced for harassing woman

An award-winning former Warwickshire Police officer has been given a four-month suspended prison sentence for harassing a woman.

David Hilton, 50, pleaded guilty last November to five counts of misuse of a computer and one of harassment.

At Warwick Crown Court on Wednesday, he received a suspended sentence, a 12-month supervision order and 200 hours community service.

In December, Hilton was dismissed from Warwickshire Police.

During his service with the police he received a Chief Constable's commendation for dragging a suicidal injured man from deep water.
