Coventry children's services leader loses cabinet post
The councillor responsible for Coventry's "inadequate" children's services department is to be replaced.
Ann Lucas, leader of the Labour-run authority, has removed George Duggins from his post in a cabinet reshuffle.
She said a "fresh and new approach" to improving the department, rated inadequate by Ofsted in March, was "essential".
Mr Duggins will be replaced by Ed Ruane, former cabinet member for housing and heritage.
The new appointment will be confirmed at the council's annual general meeting on Thursday.
