Woman 'hit by bus' in Coventry dies

A woman in her 70s has died after being hit by a double-decker bus, police have said.

Officers were called to Remembrance Road, in Willenhall, Coventry, at about 11:00 BST.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The bus driver was checked by paramedics but was unhurt, West Midlands Ambulance service said.

The road was closed at the junction with Mary Slessor Street, but has since reopened, police said.
