Man charged over £10,000 damage to Coventry church

A man has been charged after more than £10,000 damage was done to a Grade I listed church.

A large stained-glass window and two smaller windows were smashed and an oak door damaged at St John the Baptist Church in Coventry last Tuesday.

The 30-year-old from the Stoke area appeared before magistrates in Coventry accused of criminal damage.

He was remanded in custody earlier to appear at the city's crown court on 18 November.
