Drivers are being warned to expect disruption in Rugby as 12 weeks of road works begin in the town centre.

New pedestrian crossings, traffic lights and cycling lanes are being introduced at several locations on the town's gyratory system.

Lane closures will be in place between 09:30 and 16:00 GMT, Warwickshire County Council said.

An increase in traffic over the years has meant the gyratory has been struggling to cope, it added.

Paul Gibbs, from Geoffrey Osborne Limited, the firm carrying out the work, said: "Unfortunately there will be some short term disruption during the works, but we will aim to keep this to a minimum by liaising closely with businesses around the gyratory to meet any specific needs as best we can."
