Harjinder Dhillon jailed for killing cousin in 'drunken rage'

A man has been jailed for five years after killing his cousin in a drunken rage.

Harjinder Singh Dhillon, 44, beat Rajinder Singh Gill, 48, after he forcing his way into his Coventry home in September last year, police said.

The father-of-three died from multiple blunt trauma injuries and alcoholic liver disease.

Dhillon, from Hayes Lane, Exhall in Coventry, admitted manslaughter at Birmingham Crown Court.

A friend had raised the alarm when he realised Mr Gill was injured but he died before paramedics arrived.

Det Sgt Angela Baggott, from West Midlands Police, said: "This is a tragic case where alcohol has played a large part in the outcome.

"Dhillon will now have to live with his conscience as well as the loss of his cousin."
