Murder probe launched after Atherstone Audi death

Police are treating the death of a man who was struck by a black Audi in a Warwickshire town as murder.

Police said the 26-year-old from New Arley was hit by the car and then assaulted on Manor Road, Atherstone, at 21:25 BST on Saturday.

He was taken to hospital with head injuries and later died.

Three men, aged 38, 33 and 55, from Atherstone were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and released on bail.

Det Teresa McKenna, of Warwickshire Police, said: "Our thoughts are with the family of the victim at this time.

"I can confirm that this is now a murder investigation and we are continuing to appeal for anyone with information that could help with our inquiries to come forward."
