A man has been arrested after a 4x4 vehicle was thought to have been used in three attempted break-ins.

Two offenders trying to open shutters at a premises on Railway Terrace, Rugby, were "disturbed by a light" at about 23:15 BST on Friday, police said.

They left in a dark 4x4 then believed to have caused "significant damage" to a firm on Hillmorton Road, Rugby.

Afterwards, the vehicle was used in a break-in bid at a petrol station in Church Road, Shilton, it is believed.

A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary, aggravated taking of a motor vehicle and possession of a controlled substance, a Warwickshire Police spokesman said.
