Man charged over knife-point raid in Barrow

An 18-year-old man has been charged over a knife-point robbery at a shop in Cumbria earlier this month.

Daniel Baker, of Anchor Road in Barrow, was charged with robbery and possession of a bladed weapon, after the incident at the town's Buywrights store.

No-one was hurt in the 14 July incident, but police said staff were left shaken. A three-figure sum of cash was taken.

A spokeswoman for Cumbria Police said Mr Baker was due in court on 8 August.
