Sellafield nuclear plant bomb hoaxer sentenced

A Carlisle man who claimed to have planted a bomb at Sellafield nuclear plant has been given a suspended prison sentence.
Stephen Nugent, 47, of Spencer Street in the city, made two hoax bomb calls while drunk in January.
Carlisle Crown Court heard Nugent was a 'vulnerable' man and a long-term alcoholic, with medical problems that had dogged him all his life.
He was given a 30-week prison sentence, suspended for two years.
