Chickens killed in arson attack in Cumbria

Fifty chickens have been killed in what police have described as a "callous" arson attack.
The chickens died when three sheds were set alight at an allotment on Snape Road, Workington. It happened at some time overnight on 18 August.
The total damage costs are expected to be about £800.
A police spokesman said: "Fifty animals died needlessly because of this callous act." He appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
