Pyrotechnic show puts focus on Maryport harbour

A team of French pyrotechnicians will light up the skies above Maryport for an hour on Monday evening.

The Bombes Per Minute show is part of the Lakes Alive project which promotes street art and cultural events.

The choreographed show begins in darkness to the sound of a ticking clock and bell before the stage erupts with lights and fireworks.

The team behind it will be in action again on 2 September to mark the beginning of the Kendal Mintfest.

Lakes Alive is supported by the Arts Council England and the Northern Rock Foundation.
