Paraglider injured in Lake District fell crash

A man suffered serious head injuries when he crashed into a Lake District fell while paragliding.

Two Great North Air Ambulance helicopters attended the scene at Carrock Fell, north east of Keswick on Saturday afternoon.

Members of the Keswick Mountain Rescue team conveyed the 28-year-old London man to one of them.

He was airlifted to Newcastle General Hospital, where his condition is described as serious but stable.
