A Carlisle man has been arrested after a 17-year-old girl jumped out of a moving taxi because the driver touched her inappropriately, police said.
Cumbria police said the driver made "suggestive comments of a sexual nature" and touched her leg.
A 39-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of sexual touching and is on police bail.
It happened in the early hours of Sunday morning in the Garlands estate area.
The girl got into a white car at the taxi rank outside the Las Vegas Strip on Portland Square, Carlisle.
After jumping from the vehicle she hid in a nearby garden and watched the vehicle drive around the area.
Police said the girl was shaken by the incident and was left with cuts and bruises.
They are appealing for witnesses.
