Five finalists have been chosen in a contest to design a £10m redevelopment on a Cumbria harbourside.

About 140 architects submitted their designs to build a new complex of offices and flats at Whitehaven.

The finalists are Milan-based Renato Sarno Group with Proginvest, RMJM, Richard Murphy Architects, ShedKM Architects and Austin-Smith Lord.

A panel from Energy Coast West Cumbria and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) will select a winner.
