Pair charged over Whitehaven double stabbing


Two men have been charged in connection with a double stabbing in Whitehaven.

Two males, aged 14 and 23, suffered stab wounds in the Mirehouse area of the town early on Sunday.

A 14-year-old had a puncture wound to his shoulder and arm and the 23-year-old suffered a wound to his neck. The injuries were not life-threatening.

A man, 21, has been charged with wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon and a 17-year-old with possession of a bladed article.
