A woman was indecently assaulted after being dragged into an alleyway in Cumbria.

It happened at 2200 GMT last Thursday when a man approached a 23-year-old woman on Cornwallis Street in Barrow.

He followed her onto Portland Walk, dragged her into an alleyway and indecently assaulted her.

The woman managed to escape. Police are appealing for witnesses and want to speak to two youths who they think may have information.

The two were seen walking from Harrison Street onto Portland Walk into the passageway at the side of WH Smith.

The attacker, who ran off after the assault, is described as white, aged in his 30s, around 5'7 in height, of a medium build, wearing denim jeans, a black shiny jacket and a black hat with ear flaps.
