Purse alarms target Cumbria festive theft
- Published
Shoppers in north Cumbria are being offered purse alarms in a bid to crack down on thefts over the festive period.
The alarms emit a 110db siren when they are activated and can be clipped on to valuables.
Cumbria Police will be handing out the alarms to people in Carlisle and Penrith.
They have been bought by the force's North Area Community Safety team and will be given out at a number of locations.
