Cumbrian man held over stabbed woman's attempted murder

A 36-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a woman was found stabbed.

Detectives in west Cumbria were called to a property on Robert Owen Avenue, Cleator Moor, on Thursday night, where they found the 29-year-old with serious injuries.

She was taken to West Cumberland Hospital where she is in a stable condition, police said.

The arrested man was in custody and being questioned, Cumbria Police said.
