The freezing weather has led to the cancellation of a festive heritage bus service in Cumbria.
Workington Heritage Transport Trust had operated the free post-Christmas run between Seaton and Harrington for the past eight years.
This year it had planned to use a recently-acquired Leyland National Country Cousin single decker bus.
However organisers decided to err on the side of caution, amid fears that passengers might slip on icy pavements.
There was also concern that the classic vehicle, which has been lovingly restored by volunteers, could be damaged.
