A council in Cumbria has appointed an interim chief executive.
Robin Hooper will replace Kevin Douglas who will be stepping down from what he described as the "challenging" post at Eden District Council in March.
The council, run by a Conservative and Independent alliance coalition, with a Conservative leader, has to make budget savings of £1.1m over four years.
It has decided to defer any decisions until September, while proposals for a restructured council are considered.
Mr Hooper, who has worked for various local authorities in England before joining a law firm, will hold the post until the end of the year.
