Rape accused pensioner at Carlisle Crown Court

A west Cumbrian man has appeared in court, accused of sexual offences against a schoolgirl.

Eric Davies has been charged with four counts of rape, nine of engaging in sexual activity, and one of indecent assault.

The offences are alleged to have taken place over seven years.

The 69-year-old, of Noble Croft in Aspatria, entered no plea at Carlisle Crown Court. He was remanded on bail and will next appear 11 April.
