Two people have been taken to hospital after the car they were travelling in came off the road and hit trees in Cumbria.
The accident happened on the A595 in Workington, close to the Melbreak Hotel, during the early hours.
The driver of the blue Peugeot, which had travelled from the Lily Hall area, was taken to West Cumberland hospital.
The 19-year-old female passenger was trapped in the car for half an hour and freed by firefighters.
She was also taken to West Cumberland hospital.
Cumbria Police said two other cars, a white Toyota Yaris and a black Fiesta, had been seen with the Peugeot in the Lily Hall area prior to the incident.
Those travelling in the cars were stopped and interviewed.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident or anyone who may have seen the way in which the three vehicles were being driven.
