Theft warning for South Lakeland and Kendal tradesmen

Tradesmen are being warned to be vigilante after thousands of pounds worth of tools were taken during a spate of thefts.

Since 15 January, vehicles in Kendal and South Lakeland have been broken into by thieves.

Police said £18,000 worth of satellite navigation systems and power tools had been taken from tradesmen's vans.

Police are urging workers to alarm their vehicles and make sure tools are well hidden.
