Arrest after spate of car break-ins on Walney Island

A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of theft after a spate of car break-ins.

Cumbria Police said many of the cars broken into on Friday night in the Vickerstown area of Walney Island had not been locked.

The arrested man is currently being questioned by police.

Officers said a large amount of property had been recovered and they are appealing for the owners to come forward.
