Workington drugs den closed by magistrates

A suspected crack house which Cumbria Police claim has encouraged anti-social behaviour and caused "misery" for local residents has been closed down.

The closure of 173 Newlands Gardens, Workington, was granted by West Allerdale Magistrates Court for a period of three months.

Police said local people had helped them gather evidence about drug-related activity in the house.

Anyone caught entering the property will risk a fine or prosecution.
