Cyclist Geoffrey Davis dies after south Cumbria car collision

A man has died after his bicycle and two cars collided in south Cumbria.

The collision occurred on the A590 at the junction with the A6 at Levens at about 07:00 GMT.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said Geoffrey Davis, 51, from Kendal, was taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary with serious injuries and later died.

The spokesman said said the drivers of the two cars were not injured in the incident. Officers have appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
