Teenage boy hurt in Barrow-in-Furness hit-and-run

A 14-year-old boy was injured when he was hit by a driver who then drove off.

Police said the teenager was struck by a new blue-coloured Vauxhall Astra as he crossed Crellin Street, Barrow-in-Furness, on Wednesday.

The victim suffered bruising to his leg. Officers believe the car's registration plate began with PK.

The collision happened at about 17:45 GMT near the junction of Rawlinson Street. Officers are appealing for information.
