Coach driver denies causing brothers' Moota cycle deaths

A coach driver has pleaded not guilty to causing the deaths of two brothers in Cumbria by dangerous driving.

Christian and Nicholas "Niggy" Townend were killed in a crash involving a coach while cycling at Moota on the A595 on 5 December 2010.

Christian, 29, from Brigham, and 21-year-old Nicholas, from Cockermouth, died at the scene.

Robert Wightman, 43, of Creighton Avenue, Carlisle, pleaded not guilty at Carlisle Crown Court on Monday.

He was remanded on bail to go on trial on 18 June.
