A 20-year-old pedestrian has died after suffering fatal head injuries in a road accident in Cumbria.

Raymond Pattinson, of Edinburgh Road, Maryport, was struck by a Suzuki Swift on the Main Road at Allonby on Sunday, and died later in hospital.

His family has paid tribute to a "fabulous son, grandson, brother and uncle", a keen Arsenal supporter who "lived life to the full".

In a statement his family said: "Ray had many friends and spent most of his spare time in Allonby where he enjoyed playing football and socialising.

"He was lovable, sensitive and very kind.

"He will be sadly missed by all including his aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends."
