Man's body found in search for missing Cumbria fell runner

Police and rescue teams searching for a missing fell runner in Cumbria have found the body of a man.

Concerns were raised shortly before 20:00 BST on Sunday when a 63-year-old competitor in the Buttermere Sailbeck Fell Race did not return to his hotel.

Cumbria Police and Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team found the body of a man in the Scar Crags area, below Crag Hill at 09:43 BST on Monday.

Police have not confirmed that the body is of the missing man.

Formal identification is expected to take place later.
