Woman who died in M6 crash named as Robina Naz

A woman who died in a crash on the M6 in Cumbria has been named by police.

Robina Naz, 55, of Govern Hill Street, Glasgow died when the car she was a passenger in collided with a Royal Mail HGV on Thursday afternoon.

The car driver, a 57-year-old man from Glasgow, suffered serious injuries and is in a stable condition in hospital. The driver of the HGV was uninjured.

Witnesses to the crash on the southbound carriageway near Shap have been asked to contact Cumbria Police.

A detour of more than 20 miles was set up on the A6 towards Kendal after the carriageway was closed for five hours.
