Mountain biker dies in Latrigg fall

A mountain biker has died in a fall in the Lake District.

Members of the public contacted the emergency services on Monday after they found a bike on Latrigg and saw the rider down a steep slope.

Keswick Mountain Rescue team and the air ambulance attended and recovered the body of the man, who had fallen about 492ft (150m).

He was later identified as Michael Farthing, 64, and from Woodside Cottages in Penrith.
