Alexander Patterson dies in A66 collision near Keswick

A man who died when he was struck by two cars near a caravan park on a busy Lake District road has been named.

Alexander Patterson, 43, from Cockermouth, was struck by a BMW and a Peugeot near Scotgate caravan park on the A66, near Keswick, on Tuesday.

Cumbria Police said both drivers had been interviewed, but that no arrests had been made.

A force spokesman said an investigation into the exact cause of the collision was continuing.
