Teenage man arrested after 16-year-old Barrow girl stabbed

A 19-year-old man has been arrested after a teenage girl was stabbed in a street attack.

Cumbria Police said the 16-year-old was stabbed in the back with a knife in St Luke's Avenue, Barrow-in-Furness, just after 23:30 GMT on Saturday.

She was taken to Furness General Hospital for treatment and later discharged.

Officers want to speak to a taxi driver and two women who stopped to help the victim after she had been attacked.
